Read first: I sincerely hope you find the girls golf scholarship information you're looking for here. If you're trying to figure out (1) what scores you have to shoot to get a scholarship, (2) how to maximize your exposure for college golf coaches, or even just trying to (3) find all of the girls college golf teams in your area those things are all in this site. If you have any questions or there's content you'd like to see on here just leave a comment and I'll personally get back to you and find the answers to your questions. This site is monitored daily by a real person.
I've been getting a lot of questions and since I don't have time to answer all of them I'm referring everyone to a book that answers what I'm being asked, including: contact information for every women's college golf coach/program, a sample letter to send them, etc. You can get the book with all the information about girls college golf scholarships here (link opens to the book's website). This is the only resource that I recommend and I genuinely think that if it gets you even 1% closer to getting a scholarship then it's money well spent and worth the investment. If you're not looking to spend any money, there's plenty of free information on this blog that should answer pretty much all of your questions. If you don't see the answers to your questions the posts, then ask them in the comments sections and I'll answer them ASAP. I"m trying to post a couple of times a week anyway, so that'll give me something to talk about.

Finding Girls Golf Scholarships

girls golf scholarships.
Take a look at this great image above. It has a lot of really great information. If it looks a little confusing right now, don't worry. I'm going to explain it all in this post.

If you want to find a girls golf scholarship you have to know where to look right? Well, in terms of finding helpful information I hope this blog answers all or at least most of your questions.

So where are the girls golf scholarships? Here's a breakdown by region in the United States.

There are 238 NCAA Division-I women's golf programs. The geographic breakdown looks like this:

  • Northeast: 19
  • Mid-Atlantic: 22
  • South 75
  • Mid-West: 50
  • Southwest: 28
  • West: 44

For Division-II women's golf programs there are 135 golf teams out there and in the US those schools are distributed as follows:

  • Northeast: 1
  • Mid-Atlantic: 18
  • South 37
  • Mid-West: 40
  • Southwest: 20
  • West: 17
Division III schools don't technically offer scholarships for any sports, but they do help their athletes qualify for academic and other sorts of financial aid. Because this might be a little more work and a little less glamorous that might actually mean that these spots are where the opportunities lie.

Here's the Division-III girls golf breakdown by region:
  • Northeast: 20
  • Mid-Atlantic: 18
  • South 37
  • Mid-West: 86
  • Southwest: 13
  • West: 13

Moving onto NAIA ladies golf teams that offer scholarships:

  • Northeast: 2
  • Mid-Atlantic: 1
  • South 32
  • Mid-West: 61
  • Southwest: 11
  • West: 19

Junior colleges aren't typically the kind of schools that most girls grow up dreaming about playing golf for, but if you're in need of money for college and you're golf game is adequate, then Junior College girls golf can be a real pot of gold that most people are overlooking. Women's JuCo teams have almost twice as many scholarships to distribute every year as the best Division-I men's teams.

There are 113 Junior College golf teams in the US. Here are the numbers by region:

  • Northeast: 6
  • Mid-Atlantic: 6
  • South 10
  • Mid-West: 36
  • Southwest: 11
  • West: 44
As you can see most of the junior college options are focused in the mid-west and west coast.
